Saturn Corporation, a subsidiary of General Motors, was established in 1985 to compete with Japanese imports. It was founded as a "different kind of car company" with a focus on innovation, customer service, and worker involvement. Saturn's unique approach included plastic-bodied cars and a distinct retail experience.
The Saturn plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, opened in 1990, epitomized modern manufacturing. Designed to foster innovation and teamwork, the facility featured integrated production processes and emphasized worker participation. It was central to Saturn’s identity, producing its first vehicles and serving as a model for efficient, quality-focused automotive production.
Saturn is gone now but the loyal following it had still remains. There are many Facebook groups, Instagram accounts, and websites still dedicated to these fantastic little cars. Be sure to check out some of those links on our page as well. The Saturn Nationals team is dedicated to continuing sharing these cars with future generations for many years to come.
